Make a paste of salt & water. Scrub the silver with a soft cloth and rinse.
If salt isn’t "green", then we’re in a world of trouble.
To Polish Tarnished Silver
Add one tablespoon of salt to one lemon half and scrub the copper. Rinse off and feel a little better about being green.
To Remove an Ink Stain
Rub the stain with milk, rinse thoroughly and then wash the item normally. Don’t drink the milk that you’ve used or you really will turn green.
Removing a Red Wine Stain
Add stained fabric to a solution of 1/4 milk to 3/4 water.
Bring to a boil and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes or until the stain is gone.
Then wash the item normally.
Removing an Alcohol Stain
Place the stained fabric over a large bowl and rubberband it taut.
Add salt to the stain and pour boiling water over it.
Only do this with washable fabrics.
Removing a Candle Wax Stain
Scrape off as much wax as possible.
Place the stained fabric on an ironing board or counter. Place a few layers of napkins or paper towels underneath and on top of the wax stain.
Iron over the paper towels or napkins with a high/cotton setting. The wax will melt into the towels or tissue.
Keep adding fresh towels on top and underneath until all the wax is removed. Wash normally.
Removing a Coffee or Tea Stain
Stretch and fasten stained fabric over a bowl. Pour hot water over the stain.
Only do this with washable fabrics.
